President Mike Jane welcomed 13 other members, and welcomed two guests, Colonel John Kelly of St John Scotland Dunbartonshire and Clara Boeker of St John Scotland.
The president reported on the very successful joint Christmas Dinner run by the Helensburgh Garelochside club in the Rosslea Hall Hotel, Rhu, the previous evening. Alastair Wilson reported that the Primary Schools Quiz local round has been arranged for Monday March 11 at Lomond School.
Alastair also handed out the smoked salmon and trout ordered by members in the annual PolioPlus fundraising project run by the Mid-Argyll Club.
Bill Deans spoke on "My Grandfather's Great War", describing the wartime service of his grandfather William Deans, who won the Military Medal and suffered leg wounds while serving with the 21st Manchester Regiment as part of the 7th Division in Northern Italy in 1918.
He illustrated his talk with some fascinating documents and photographs from that time, and passed round the Military Medal, awarded for gallantry in the field. John McCormick proposed the vote of thanks.
The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Gordon Burgess.
