President Gordon Burgess welcomed thirteen other members.
President-Elect Mike Jane spoke about astronomy, the study of stars and space, and how the development of telescopes from the 17th century had enabled more and more to be seen and photographed over the years. He passed round several images he had taken, and explained the use of his own telescope.
John McCormick proposed the vote of thanks, and the weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Derek Hall.
