President Gordon Burgess welomed fourteen other members, and paid tribute to former member Alan Berry, a member of the club from 1975-93, who died suddenly in his sleep last Sunday at the age of 80.
Alan was a chartered architect and for many years had an office in Colquhoun Square. He was responsible for the design of the housing developments on the south side of the square, as well as many other local buildings.
An avid Dumbarton supporter, he moved north to Dingwall where he became a Ross County season ticket holder. He is survived by sons Colin and Julian who are both senior medical consultants.
Gordon also reported on the successful Young Baker competition held at Hermitage Academy the previous Tuesday. It was organised by associate member Linda Harvey, principal guidance teacher Isabel Cullen, and some of Isabel's colleagues. The winner was Stewart McKellar.
Derek Hall appealed for raffle prizes for the Bridge Night at Helensburgh Rugby Club on Friday March 16.
