President Gordon Burgess welcomed thirteen other members, and secretary Donald Fullarton read the minutes of last Tuesday's Board meeting.
Community and vocational convener Bill Deans announced that the Rotary Youth Leadership Award recipients would speak at a joint meeting with the Garelochside club in the Rosslea Hall Hotel, Rhu, on Monday November 13, and the club would be holding a Wine Tasting at the Commodore Hotel on Friday November 17, organised by Ellie's Cellar.
Foundation convener Alastair Wilson announced that the purple crocus corms had arrived, and urged members to purchase them at ten for £1 in aid of PolioPlus. Many did, and it is hoped that Garelochside club members will also purchase some. Some 1,000 have been donated to the James Street Play Park.
The president commented on the current campaign to persuade the National Trust for Scotland to use the resources left to them by the late Miss Hendry for the benefit of Geilston House and Garden at Cardross. He said that anyone who felt strongly about this could either write to the NTS or join the local Friends of Geilston Garden group.
The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Adam Muggoch.
