The Scottish Rights of Way

Alisdair Lindsay gave a talk on Scotways which is The Scottish Rights of Way and Access Society. It was very interesting to hear that rights of way developed from paths used by our ancestor going to market, church or burials as well as drover's paths. The society do an encellent job in maintaining these paths and ensuring that they are not blocked with access denied to the public. However the public have to realise that they have responsibilities in using this right and must respect the area in which they are walking. If you see a red flag out walking avoid the area as you may become a bit of a grouse!
