A Quiz Night by John Williams

The evening was billed as a John Williams Extravaganza, which turned out to be a twenty question quiz night.  The club members were joined by Assistant Governor Bruce MacPherson.

 Quiz Master John had undertaken considerable research for his 10 questions on Greenock and 10 questions on Gourock to ensure the all knowledgeable members of the club were robustly challenged.  The nature of the questions was very searching, provoking a fair bit of head-scratching. Indeed the fairly abstruse nature of the topics is such that the writer can't remember a single one.

 Still, it was a most enjoyable night. lavish prizes were handed out to the winners - a bunch of swots!!
