President Norman Pettigrew gave one of his excellent recounts of his latest globe trotting expedition to India. As usual the quality of the photography was superb and well thought through to provide a true insight into the locations visited. The list of places visited included Kalimpong, Delhi, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Bharatpur and Agra.
The trip commenced with a visit to the Rotary Club of Kalimpong where we understand the hospitality and refreshment flowed freely and we have a new banner to display. The Rotary Club of Kalimpong is actively involved in providing new toilet blocks for the Robertson Memorial Primary School under the Scottish Universities Mission Institution, where the existing facilities are 100 years old and in an appalling condition.
President Norman and his wife Anne went on to visit the many tourist attractions in the places as listed, which including the Maharaja forts and towns which demonstrated the history of India and the marked contrasts between standards of living of the people.
