A Talk by John Pow

Thu, Jul 24th 2008 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

John Pow with President Norman

Our very own John Pow was our speaker this evening, introduced by Jim Anderson.  It has been some time since we were given an update in respect of the important events that are taking place in Oban, as reliably reported in the Oban Times.  Members have previously found that without these regular updates, life has something missing and there have be reports of members losing the will to go on.

John went on to report a serious impediment for business in Kempock Street and for the people of Gourock, when pungent vapours were perceived emanating from a manhole and plumbers were observed in attendance.  While these real life dramas were unfolding John gave a blow by blow account of his efforts, the dangers associated with, the materials required and the methods of work utilised to replace the waterproof membrane on a coach house roof.  Members were kept in suspense to the end of John
