The Glenlee

A talk by Mr Alan Blackwood.


This evening we recieved a fascinating talk by Mr Alan Blackwood on the history of the Tall Ship, the Glen Lee.  Now berthed in Glasgow at the new Transport Museum, the Glen Lee has had a varied history ranging from hard voyages crewed by men just as hardy to now being a showpiece of Scottish history.  We are grateful to Alan for bring the bygone days of this remarkable vessel to life for us.  We were also fortunate this evening to have a visit from Assistant District Governor, Jim Morton from the Hunterston Club, informing us of the forthcoming District Conference.
