Young Musicians of the Year Competition

Once again, an extremely succesful Young Musician of the Year competition was staged in the Chart Room by the Rotary Club of Gourock.  All who attended enjoyed an evening of wonderful music, played by the participants in this year's contest.  Our thanks go to the staff of the Chart Room, who provided great service and a lovely meal, to the judges whose difficult task it was to choose the winners, to Jane Cox for doing such a sterling job of organizing the event and, finally, to each of the very talented youngsters who took part.  Our congratulations go the winners:  Vocal, Rachel Hanlon from Clydeview Academy who sang "O DelMio Dolce Ardor" and Instrumental, Kieran Gilmour from Port Glasgow High School who played "Yellow After the Rain" on the Marimba.
