Tall Ships Race

The Tall Ships came to Greenock.


The Tall Ships Race came, once more, to Inverclyde. It was an enormous affair with nearly 800,000 visitors over the course of the event coming to view the ships and participate in the many activities provided. For most of the time, the sun shone on Greenock, in more ways than one, and everyone had the opportunity to enjoy themselves. The Gourock Club provided much help and participation in the event by way of ship liaison officers, volunteer drivers and the organization and manning of a marquee promoting Rotary itself. Those who helped out worked unselfishly, putting in long hours but always with a smile.
