A talk on the Caledonian Princess by Mr Ken Charlson.
The first meeting of the newly formed Charity Fund Raising Committee was held this evening prior to normal business. The Committee comprises President Jane Cox, Bill Alexander, Norman Pettigrew, Allister Boyle and Alex Murphy. Members will be sent an email requesting ideas for and participation in fund raising ventures. After the meal, John MacLeod informed members that a Shelter Box had been delivered to Haiti to help with the recovery effort there. Allister Boyle then introduced his guest, Ken Charlson, who gave us an extremely interesting talk and visual presentation about the MV Hebridean Princess, its humble beginnings as a car ferry, its current use as a luxury cruising passenger vessel and the plans for its continued success in the future. Ken also gave us a slight but nonetheless tantalising glimpse into the holiday habits of the Royal Family.
