Jim Taylor headmaster of Struan School for autistic children gave a most interesting talk on the work that is done at the school. Children who were given no hope in mainstream education have been taught to fend for themselves. Even more amazing some of the children are now working on standard grade exams. One of the problem of autism is that children cannot work in groups. and are very insular. Last years a sports day was held at Struan and for some parents it was the first time they had seen their children interacting with others.
