Making Sense of Crashes Garry MacKay

Thu, Apr 12th 2007 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

Garry is a constable in the special crash investigation unit of Strathclyde Police. He explained to us how from very little information at a crash site using mathematic from the details availabe to them they can work out the mechanics of most crashes. The 'burnt rubber' that is seen on the road after an incident is not actually rubber but tar melted by the heat generated by the sharp braking. All in all a very informative talk enjoyed by all.
