Club Assembly and Installation
Thu, Jun 28th 2007 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am
The Club Assembly and Installation turned out to be an eventful evening. To start we had a visit fron two scouts that Gourck Rotary had sponsored for a trip on the SailTraining Ship The Tenacious. The scouts, Joanna Platt and Fraser Sinclair, are pupils at Notra Dame and Greenock Academy. Both were presented with spending money for their trip and expressed their gratitude to club members for giving them this oppertunity.
Bruce McPherson Assistant Governor was also in attendance and gave a brief talk to members thanking them for being a welcoming and active club where their fellowship is well recognised throughout the district.
Bob Riddell addressed the club on his last visit as a member as he is moving to Perth. He thanked the members for their fellowhip and support over the years. He will be sadley missed by all but we look forwrd to his promised return visits.
Finally we had the installation of President Hugh McClure and the handover of the clubs regalia by retiring President John MacLeod. Hugh gave a few word on his vision for the club over the coming year. This was follwed by a breif statement of intent from each of the conveners.
Members were reminded that the new session will sart at Gourock Yacht Club on Thursday 19th July
