Young Musician competition

The Young Musician competition took place at Duncanrig Secondary School in January 2023.  As this was the first time the competition was run locally, it was encouraging that it attracted 16 entrants between Duncanrig and Calderglen High Schools.

Competition was fierce and the audience of Rotarians together with friends and families of the entrants were amazed at the talent all the young people showed in a variety of instruments and also some superb singing voices.  After a very difficult task for the judges, the winners of the local heat were 1st Danish Khairy, Duncanrig, 2nd Hannah Dalgleish, Calderglen, 3rd Milo McPherson, Duncanrig.  In fourth place was vocalist Cristine McConville from Duncanrig who also continued to the District round with Danish as the first placed vocalist.

Danish was also proclaimed winner of the District heat and progressed to the Regional final where he was runner up.  Unfortunately, this was not enough for him to progress further in the competition.
