Our Club's main fund-raising event - the annual Treasure Trail - took place on 1st September, and what a wonderful event it turned out to be!
We were blessed with fine weather when 10 teams set out in good spirits. In all, there were 35 participants with a wide range of ages. Everyone completed the course and, given the level of noise afterwards, they all seemed to have had a great time.
Many, many thanks to all who contributed in so many ways to make the event a success. The support by members in providing raffle prizes, team prizes and donations showed yet again what a generous bunch of Rotarians we have in our club.
The event raised £845 for the local charities we support.
All in all a successful fundraising event but equally important it felt good to be Rotarians in action, working as a team and enjoying ourselves.
One other positive footnote: several of the participants expressed an interest in Rotary, so we shall follow up that interest and try to attract them to join us.
Proceeds will be for the following charities:
Glasgow Lodging House Mission
Glasgow Active Schools Programme
Street Soccer Scotland.
