What a day!
At the beginning of the meeting we inducted our first "corporate" member - Dr. Angela Galloway, representing St. Cuthbert's Hospice, a local charity close to our hearts. Then before lunch we were pleased to present the Marie Curie organisation, represented by Hayley Ravell and Lisa Wild, with a cheque for £1000 in memory of Pauline, the wife of our member Brian Peart; they were accompanied by Pauline's sister Mrs Valerie Nunn.
After lunch, the birthday cake was cut by Malcolm Proud, a member since 1974 and the longest-standing member present. Then, finally, we settled down to hear another of Keith James's impromptu talks.
