A total of 86 Rotarians and guests enjoyed a meal at the Ramside Hall Hotel, followed by an entertaining talk by Geoff Cook, the First Team Coach of the Durham County Cricket Club.
The "official party" - the Mayor and Mayoress of Durham, Councillor and Mrs Southwell with District Governor Tony Fairley and his wife Cynthia, together with President David.
Before the meal, President David had the welcome task of awarding a Paul Harris Fellowship to Rotarian Stewart Atkin.
Stewart has served the Rotary Club of Durham extremely well as Treasurer, President and Secretary over many years and richly deserves the honour of a PHF.
Stewart proudly wears the PHF ribbon and medal.
In a short comfort break after the meal, the Mayor was spotted in earnest conversation with Rotarian Colin Beswick - a former Mayor of Durham.
And then we heard a wide range of cricketing tales from Geoff Cook.
Geoff also expressed his pleasure and honour to be associated with the success of the Durham County Cricket Club at the magnificent Riverside ground over the last 16 years.
Another thoroughly enjoyable evening!
