Sports evening dinner

The sports night dinner was held at the Grimsby Golf Club on Wednesday 24th September. As usual, during the day there was a golf competition (nine holes) for men and women. The bowls competition had taken place the previous week.

After the meal the results were read out and trophies awarded.

Bowls: 

John read out the results and the winners were;

Women:  Ann Turner was presented with a silver cup.

Men: Som Roy was presented with silver cup

Golf:

Stuart read out the results.

Women: Third place Ann Carr received a golf ball

Second place Janet who received a small plaque

First place Julia who received a model of a lady golfer.

Men.

At the end of play there a number of men on 18points.It was decided to look at the scores for the last 6 holes and the results were;

Third place Som who received. A tankard (silver plate)

Second place Stuart who received a pewter tankard.

First place Simon who received the “Fleming “ cup.

This has not yet been completed so no trophies were awarded.

President Mike thanked all the players for competing in the events and a special thanks to others(none players) and partners. Special thanks to John (D) for arranging the bowls throughout the year and  to Stuart(F) for arranging the golf tournaments.
