A group of 16 Rotarians, partners together with dogs gathered at the car park of the Rimac Nature reserve near Saltfleetby for a circular coastal walk. The weather was kind to us and we enjoyed the scenery and nature - deer and frogs (or were they toads) were seen, together with interesting vegetation including samphire.
One of the features was an old abandoned Comet Tank, half submerged in the sand. In the 1970s this was far more intact, but time iand weather is taking it's toll.
Some of the hardier walkers completed an extra section of walk, before we all mad our way to the Axe and Cleaver Pub in North Somercotes for much needed refreshmenats. There we joined other members and their partners who had been unable to be on the walk.
We had pleasant 'pub grub' and good fellowship.
Thanks should go to John and Sheila Norman, and Mike and Anne Carr who organised the event very efficiently.
