A talk by Paul Learoyd, Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust

President Mike Briggs and Paul Learoyd

Our speaker today was Paul Learoyd, Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.

He told us that our area has some globally important features - the grey seals that come to Donna Nook, chalk streams and bluebell woods being some of them.

Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust was started some 70 years ago and now has 27,000 members, 1,000 volunteers and 80 staff. It looks after 100 sites.

One of the most important is Donna Nook, where some 2,500 pups were reared over the winter. This attracts many tens of thousands of visitors not just from Lincolnshire but from all over the country.

After his talk, President Mike Briggs presented Paul with a cheque for £250 as a contribution to the excellent work done by the Trust.
