On Sunday 2nd of June it was the Great Grimsby 10K run. At 9am the runners set off from Grimsby Town Hall and the route took them along Doughty Road, Scartho Road, Peaks Parkway before ending in the Peoples Park.
3000 competitors signed up for the event and the first runners completed the course in about 30 minutes, with the last ones coming in after 2 hours. The weather was good being not too cold with some sunshine.
There was a fun run for children around the Peoples Park.
Members from Rotary acted as marshals at the road junctions from Peaks Parkway/Welhome Road to the bandstand in the Park. It was very busy at some of the road junctions.
Thank you to Gary (our secretary) for organising the marshals and keeping an eye throughout the morning.
The event was, as before, a huge success.
