A report on a conducted Tour of the Town Hall and a visit to the Time Trap.

A conducted tour of the Town Hall was organised for the evening of May 8th and our guide was Paul Wisken.

Paul gave us a brief history of the Town Hall before commencing the tour. We visited the Council Chamber, Banqueting Hall, Main Hall and Robing Room with stop-offs to look at paintings (former mayors) and silver ware. At the end of the tour we visited the Time Trap, some of our party were unaware of its existence. It is situated in the former police cells and its amazing how the curators have managed to squeeze so much into the available space. The Time Trap provides a brief glimpse of Grimsby's past history of fishing, music halls, sea side etc and if you have not been it's well worth a visit.
