Eight Rotarians met at the Swallow Inn and loaded up tables, water containers, drinking cups, high vis vests, hats and a bag of sustenance and headed off to erect a water station for the runners at Rothwell. 1500 runners were offered cups of water. Some even stopped for a brief chat and many thanked the support team for their efforts. The weather was brilliant and we were bathed in sunshine the whole morning.
Afterwards, Tape2Tape ran a festival-like event at Swallow village for the runners of the two races which ran in contra-flow.
Tape2Tape sent a further amount of £100 to the Treasurer for our benevolent fund. They have given us £700 in total this year for the three events that we supported.
