Third Annual Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot

Entrants

Warm sunshine and light breeze greeted us in the morning at Nettleton Lodge and the team of volunteers soon had the marquees and BBQ set up ready for the start of the competition at 12:00.  Arrivals were slower than last year and by finish we had 16 entrants plus 3 re-entries.

There was a good take up on the raffle and the 'guess the number of cartridges' challenge which was won by our very own John Norman.

Ian and Stuart kept the burgers flipping, onions sizzling and sausages rolling, with liquid refreshments being served by the ladies. 

Prize Winners

Nick Wells and Matthew Fotheringham shared the first prize in the mens competition with 26/30 and most graciously donated their prize money to charity.

Sarah Sorrel won the first prize in the ladies competition with 23/30.

Will Jacob, Nick Wells, Pete Brown, Chris Sorrel, and R Davies each won a bottle of wine for hitting an orange clay.

Proceeds

The event generated around GBP600 and all proceeds will be donated St Andrews Hospice in Grimsby.

As always a big thank you to the Rotarians and their wives who assisted with the erection of the marquees and running of the event.  Also a special thank you to Ben Jacobs who made the ground available on the day and his team of helpers who set up and manned the traps.
