The annual bowls competition was held on Thursday 23rd July.

Tha annual bowls match was held on Thursday 23rd at the People's Park. This was organised by Rotatrian John Durham.

11 men and 5 ladies took part in the comeptition. The men were divided into two teams and played 10 ends.

After 10 ends the winners from the two mens teams had a 3 end playoff.

The event was scheduled to start at 4 pm but some members (no names were late) and one participant (no mane ) had been to another bowling green ...and then decided not take part!We eventually started the match.

it was a pleasant afternoon following the morning rain and at times the bowls did not seem to turn. However,we all managed to play but some never got onto the score sheet.

After 10 ends there was clear ladies winner .Magaret Furness. The two men ..Stuart Brown and Mike Quikfall winners of the first round went into the play off. Stuart was the winner.

Afterwards, we all retired to the Fish and Chip restaurant  for a welcome meal, bread and butter,a glass of wine and a cup of tea.
