A report on our annual walking weekend at Hathersage.

13.05.14   WALKING WEEKEND HATHERSAGE.

This year the walking weekend was held in Derbyshire and our base was The George Hotel  Hathersage. Unlike previous years there was to be  two walks (Saturday and Sunday).

People began arriving at the hotel on Saturday morning  if they wanted to go on the  2pm walk lead by President Gordon. We assembled in the car park behind the hotel and we all put on wet weather gear and set off for Stanage Edge.It was a gentle climb before it became step towards the rocky outcrop. On the way Gordon pointed out  a hall that was the inspiration for Charlotte Bronte
