A report on the club's response to the Grimsby Telegrapgh's campaign.

The Grimsby Telegraph is running a " Ten Tonnes of Tins Campaign" and this began in February.Families are turning to places such as Daily Bread Food Larder at the Christian Action Resource Centre (Care) for help. The current economic downturn has lead to a huge increase in individuals and families seeking assistance.

Martyn Turner spoke to the club at normal lunchtime meeting and asked if members would be willing to bring a tin of packet of food to donate to this appeal at a future meeting.Members of the club agreed with this suggestion.

Food was collected at two meeting and members were very generous. Some gave money so Martyn had to do some shopping!

The food was delivered to the Telegraph Offices and on the first trip we filled three of their blue boxes.

At the end of the collection we donated 121 tins  and 36 packets of food.
