A report of the annual sports day

13.09.12 SPORTS DAY REPORT

Sports day was held on Wednesday (12th September) during the afternoon and there were two sports played golf and bowls. The weather forecast was for showers and clearing after 4 pm.This did not happen and the rain was of biblical proportions consequently the bowls match was shortened as was the golf tournament.

BOWLS MATCH.

As usual there was a team of ladies and men and the plan was to play 10 ends. This did not happen . After three ends there was clear winner in the ladies team,so they retreated to the pavillion.Whilst the men battled on for 6 ends before there was a play off.Everybody was wearing wet weather gear but to no avail because by the end of the match many were wet through as was their foot wear. The pitch became a mass of puddles and as bowls ploughed through the water they were slowed up.
