Grimsby Rotary had been given the opportunity to plant 10 specimen trees that were surplus to the Council needs. The problem was that we had to find a site very quickly.
The problem was given to Roatarian Ian Birrell, who eventually found a site at Healing school. On Wednesday 23rd March ,after the lunch time meeting, Ian assembled the group at the school. The tress included oak, copper beech and ash.
The photographs that accompany this report show that it was no easy task. The trees were mature specimens and so deep holes had to be dug and with the aid a pick axe. Also they looked to be quite heavy to carry!
Nevertheless the task was completed and when the trees are fully mature should look fantastic.A credit to the club.It also makes one appreciate the work of forefathers in planting so many trees.
The photographs were suppled by Rotarian J Clark.
