Club History - our Club is 50 years old in 2025!

The Rotary Club of Dronfield was chartered in April 1975 with 27 members. Since that time over 100 members of the club have been active in the local community and overseas

Our Club Charter

The Rotary Club of Dronfield was chartered in April 1975. Our Club will be 50 years old in 2025.

50 years of helping the people of Dronfield and responding to overseas disasters .

In the Rotary year 2023-2024

Stop the Bleed Kits

10 have now been sited in S18 - see separate page for sites.Two more are on order to be sited at Coal Aston Village Hall and Apperknowle.

Donated towards a defibrillator at Rutland Arms, Holmesfield

Supported and contributed to two convoys -through Helping our Ukrainian Friends- going to Ukraine. Our club purchased food,charging bricks, medicines and sanitary goods. One of our members travelled to Ukraine on an humanitarian mission.

Santa's Sleigh

Banner Plant are refurbishing the interior of our Sleigh, re wiring all lighting and fitting LED lights. We are very grateful for their help and the support of other local firms.

End Polio Now

We lit up our meeting place 'Dronfield Hall Barn' Purple on World Polio Day. We support Foundation - Rotary's own Charity' and End Polio Now. We can never think that Polio has been completely eliminated from our World. It is only a plane ride away.

We are working with Dronfield Air Cadets to purchase a replacement vehicle after theirs was stolen in July 2024. Two members of the Cadet core are attending RYLA (Rotary Young Leaders Award in 2025

We are supporting 'Life Dronfield' and when the bats move along so that building work can restart we will be applying for a Foundation Grant for sensory equipment to equip a Sensory Room

A Schools Music Festival was a very successful event - involving local schools showcasing their abilities at The Winding Wheel in Chesterfield. This will be repeated in 2025.

Our Community

more Dronfield is in North East Derbyshire in central England. It comprises of five communities Dronfield, Dronfield Woodhouse. Coal Aston, Apperknowle and Unstone within the S18 postcode area.
