The Vernon Barnes Memorial Trophy golf competition took place for the second time on the Eagle Course at Branston Golf Club on the 10th October. This was the 15th time this golf competition had taken place.

At the end the results were very close with tied scores and using the countback system for the final 9 holes, Mel Thomas and Tony Forster. Second were Andy Archer and Mike Carey, third were Mike Styne and David Munday.

There was a special prize donated again by the Branston Golf & Country Club, it was a range card for 30 balls to be used on the driving range.
