On a lovely June day, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the National Memorial Arboretum. Already in the diary for the autumn we have lunch at Summerhouse Bakery, a Magic Show, visits to Rosliston Forest, the National Brewery Centre, the Red House Cinema, Trentham Gardens and the panto, as well as our Christmas Knees Up. If you would like to join us, you would be very welcome.
The Carers+ Café is for all who care for someone with a physical or mental disability. Here you can chat and share experiences with others facing similar challenges. Help is also on hand from Age UK and Citizens Advice Bureau.Trip to Sudbury Museum of Childhood

Carers+ Café visit to Memory Lane and lunch at the National Memorial Arboretum.
A very short history
Burton Rotary Club opened the café, an initiative of the Club's then President, Rod Gent, in June 2015 as a 'Memory Café', meeting in Crossley House next to Burton Market Hall. Initially it was open every Tuesday and Wednesday, from 10.00 to 2.00, to support people living with dementia and their carers. Tea, coffee, cakes and scones supplied by Summerhouse Bakery helped to provide a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for people to meet up and talk over their problems. Staff from Queen's Hospital, the Alzheimer's Society, Citizens' Advice, and Dementia Care were on hand to give professional assistance.
In January 2017 the Memory Café opened its doors to all carers and moved to The Brewhouse which offers a safe, relaxed and comfortable environment. The move brought with it a change of name.
