Brigg Primary School families this morning received their free school meals at home.
These families would normally receive free school meals at school. The school has been proactive in encouraging vulnerable children to attend school where they can receive a hot meal every day but that is not always possible.
Rotary is here to help. Nine Rotarians delivered 170 food parcels and loaves of bread to 52 families in and around Brigg for those who could not attend school.
Mrs. Spencer, Headteacher, said "I really cannot tell you how grateful we are. Please pass on my thanks to all involved for their hard work and their smiles. We have already had some very grateful parents messaging us to say a big thank you and the parcels will make a big difference. There was no way they we could have collected.”
The school is hoping that the local authority will allow them to give out vouchers but in the meantime, they may ask Rotary to help them again.
With thanks again to those Rotarians who made this happen
