Lewis Strange
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rotarian Lewis Strange and our condolences go out to his family and friends at this time.
Lewis was awaiting a heart bypass operation. Sadly, his condition deteriorated before he could receive the operation and he died in Hull supported by his family.
In his early years, Lewis was a farmer in Searby before branching out into local politics as a Lincolnshire County Councillor for Hemswell and West Lindsey Councillor for the Kelsey Ward. He was a keen sportsman especially enjoying cricket with Brocklesby Park and a long standing member of Nottingham CC. He played hockey with Brigg where he was 1stteam captain during a difficult period and brought great enthusiasm into the side.
He joined Rotary in 1969; he was President in 1996/7 and received a Paul Harris Fellowship in 2012 presented by President Martin Robinson.
We will be all miss his experience, wisdom and dedication to Rotary, RIP Lewis.
