Brigg Rotary were out and about last Saturday planting just over 5,500 crocus corms in support of their Purple4polio appeal. With the help of Brigg Scouts, St Mary's Church, Vale Sixth Form and the local community volunteers they were all planted on the grass verges around Brigg.
In all 11,000 have been planted in Brigg and local villages this year and raise £1,430 to buy the much needed polio vaccinations.
President, Julie Whitelock, said "Yet again local people, businesses, Brigg Council and local Parish Councils have been really generous. When the crocuses bloom in the spring it will be another reminder how close we are to the eradication of polio throughout the world" Well done to Chris Darlington and his team
