The Rotary Club of Brigg Sponsored Walk was held on July 17th, a beautiful sunny summer day. The annual event followed the well established route through private grounds on the Nelthorpe Estate thanks to the generous permission of Mr Tom Nelthorpe.
Starting from the Market Place in Brigg, the 28 walkers had a choice of either 6 or 9 mile route, taking them through Scawby Brook to join a woodland path and meadows before walking around the lovely ponds in Scawby Park, then heading out into the village of Scawby and back to Brigg via various country lanes.
The route was marshalled by a team from Brigg Lives and members of the club with both walkers and stewards commenting on how much they had enjoyed the day.
Funds raised by the event will be used to support the purchase of a defibrillator for Brigg and support the work done by Macmillan Cancer Support. Sponsorship money is still being collected but so far we have collected £800 and counting!
Congratulations to all those who have sponsored this great cause.
