On Saturday, 1st June, Brigg was bustling with people enjoying the Craft Market and they were also treated to the revival of the old tradition of blessing the water pumps.
This revival was prompted by the celebrations to mark the crowning of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 60 years ago.
The ceremony started in Bridge Street and progressed to Grammar School Road where the second pump was also blessed by Rev. Enid Knowles.
The event was organised by the Brigg Business Partnership, the decoration was provided by Brigg Rotary Club. President Tony was on hand to present the cheque for the splendid flower arrangements.
Morris Men from Grimsby and Tatterfoals from Scunthorpe plus Bootleggers Appalachian Dancers provided traditional entertainment.
