Adrian’s talk covered his experiences in Kenya seeing at first hand the transformation in the landscape and the lives of people living there being brought about through the construction of sand dams. Built in the right place these simple hand built structures capture water during the rainy season that would otherwise be lost. The retained water allows the reclamation fo the land for agriculture. Led by the charity Excellent Developments and supported by Rotary International Adrian’s talk was of simple ideas, well executed making a real difference to people’s lives.
