Miriam Wardroper Hughes

“I was first introduced to rotary in university where I joined the Rotaract club. I really enjoyed being part of the student community and reaching out to Chester residents by helping in community projects, charity fundraising and building relationships between students and residents. I wanted to continue that at home by joining the Rotary club of Wednesfield and helping my local community  through differing projects to help people from all walks of life. I really fell it's important to be a visible part of the community to make sure we make a big an impact as possible.”

“Rotary has been a part of my life since 2016 and it’s an amazing feeling to finally transition from a Rotaract member to a Rotary member. I currently work in the public sector with a background in flood risk management, disaster management and community resilience. I started my rotary journey at university where I became a member of a Rotaract Club. This club helped me through all the hardships and worries that university brings, it gave me a friendship group and a sense of belonging. I was honoured to chair the club in 2017-18 and it was the best year of my life. I hope to bring this passion and enthusiasm to Wednesfield and continue to make a change”

TED AND MARGARET CLEWLEY

Ted and Margaret Clewley transferred from Wolverhampton St. Georges Rotary Club when it closed at the end of the 2020/21 Rotary Year.  They thank President Stan and all members who have given them such a warm welcome and they look forward to serving Wednesfield Club in the future.

Ted has been a Rotarian since 2012 and is currently District Community Services Lead and also District Resilience and Emergency Support Lead.  He has also been a member of District International Committee in the past and has also been International Chair of Wolverhampton St. Georges Club.  Ted was an Ambassador, and now a member, of Disaster Aid UK & Ireland which is Rotary project led by Denton & Audenshaw Rotary Club (Manchester).

Margaret joined Rotary in 2006, has served as Club International Chair and became President in 2014.  She then became an Assistant Governor for the following three years and then President again of Wolverhampton St. Georges in 2019/20.
