Community Volunteers

Information on how YOU can help US help YOUR local community

Brereton Community Library

A group of ordinary people from around the Rugeley area having a good time whilst working for communities.

Our local flagship project is Brereton Community Library which we manage in partnership with Staffordshire County Council. We serve over 1000 visitors a month and our volunteer team put in over 300 volunteer hours per month Not only do we deliver the full Staffordshire Libraries service, but also hold a variety of activities every week to five local people a place of warmth, safety and companionship.

We are particulalry looking for new members who would like to get directly involved in the day to day management of our library, and it's team of 23 volunteers. Message us if you would like to know more.

We also visit the area with Santa's Sleigh in partnership with Rugeley Lions every December  The look of delight on the children's faces - pure magic. Every year, we need volunteers to help us with this.

On the international front, Rotary clubs have been instrumental in the drive to eradicate polio.  We really are "this close". (For more information visit www.endpolio.org)
