Collection of tents from the V Fest |
|
Each year after the fans leave the V fest at Weston park, there are thousands of tents left behind. That is in addition to the countless other items ranging from chairs to food and crockery, not to mention the odd inflatable guitar and red feather boa.
On 19th and 20th August 2013 members of the Rotary club of Rugeley joined the army of rotarians from across the district to assist with the collection once again. Over an evening and morning, the useable tents and other items are collected, packed and loaded onto lorries. They are taken away to be cleaned and re-packed ready for distribution and use in the wake of natural disasters and other emergencies acround the world. Some of the smaller items are also used by local clubs and organisations. |
