Presentation to Coastwatch

Visit by President Elizabeth December 2020

Coastwatch Visit

Just before Christmas when we were in Tier 2, I met up with Geoff Peters from Coastwatch, and presented our donation from the Porthole magazine Christmas greetings.

We met at the Coastwatch station. It was a cold day with thick fog at the Bill, but Geoff was able to let us into the training room as the watch shift changed up in the lookout.

Geoff entertained us with stories about “pirates” threatening our Weymouth fishermen, amongst many other tales of rescues and ship wrecks. He also described Princess Ann’s visits to the station, both she and her husband are now honorary Coastwatchers.
