President Colin welcomed everyone and went straight to Business: Decision on project to provide Latrines and sanitation for God’s Favour School in Karamaina near Nairobi in Kenya. The full proposition had been circulated on Monday in an email from Kathryn and the International Committee. Roderick showed photographs and explained the workings of the bio digester system. Provision of these facilities will unlock Government funding of resources such as computers and books. After discussion it was carried unanimously that funds set aside for Disaster (up to £5000) should be released now, and made up again from future fund-raising. Money would be released in stage payments through Ruaru Rotary Club as our agents, and they would give progress reports.It was proposed and carried that a Rotary Branded Gazebo should be purchased for us to display alongside Taunton Club’s at the Flower Show.
President Elect Keith asked everyone to reply to his appeal for preferences on Committees, so that a new Club Directory for 2018-19 could be compiled imminently.Also appeal for more Teams for Golf Day.
