President Tracey represented the Rotary Club of Taunton at the finals of the Rotary Young Musician competition on Saturday, 29 March, at New City College Redbridge. The event showcased the extraordinary talent, dedication, and passion of young people, leaving all in awe of their abilities.
Alongside the Young Musician finals, the Rotary Young Chef and Young Citizen competitions were also taking place on the same campus, creating a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere. It was a true celebration of youth achievement, and the standard across all competitions was simply exceptional.
Tracey was pleased to attend the event with Rtn Mike Kew, the incoming District Governor for District 1200. They had the opportunity to witness some outstanding performances, and the future looks incredibly bright with such talented and determined young individuals showing us the way.
A special mention must go to our Taunton Club sponsored violinist Sophie, who, although she did not win the competition, delivered a brilliant performance. Sophie represented our club and district with great poise and skill, supported by her accompanist, Ana. Their dedication and hard work were evident, and we could not be prouder of them. To make it through the rounds to the final of a national competition means that all of those who performed at this event were winners!
A huge thank you to Rotarian Alan Reeve who initiated and has driven the Rotary Young Musician competition for our Club once again and enabled us to be represented by such a talented musician at an exceptionally high level.
