The Neroche Woodlanders are a social enterprise based in 100 acres of beautiful woodland, near to the Blackdown Hills just outside Taunton.
The woodland is an inspiring place where young and old are encouraged to stay in touch with nature and find motivation and well being through active learning and physical engagement with the natural environment.
The woodlanders maintain the forest, encouraging wildlife and natural habitats for many species of birds, insects and animals. They provide activities and access to many groups and individuals, encouraging connection and understanding of the natural world.
They provide support for those facing mental health challenges, giving children access to stimulating and informal learning and provide opportunities for many to make an active contribution by volunteering for woodland management and other life enhancing work.
The Club has funded £250 towards the Woodlanders' project to provide 'natural home packs' for children so that they can create their own art by making novel artefacts using only natural resources gathered from the woodland floor. In addition the Club has funded 'wet gear' for children and babies to enjoy outdoor activities.
Children who have benefitted include those from North Taunton and Halcon.
