Taunton Rotarians help Community Helpers

Taunton Rotary has provided £500 to the Coronavirus Community Help Taunton, a volunteer group and an established part of the Coronavirus Helpers. The funds go towards an Emergency Response Fund.

£500 has been made as an initial donation to the Coronavirus Community Help Taunton (CCHT) to assist them in meeting the short-term needs of individuals who need emergency help but who are not covered by other more formal means of support.

The CCHT, led by Natalie Dyson with a team of other volunteers is reaching out to those in need and supports 39 voluntary groups across Somerset West and Taunton. This successful initiative is one of a number of community groups that have emerged in response to the Coronavirus situation.

Tony Cox, President of the Club said, 'The Club is pleased to be able to offer the Emergency Fund for those in need. This group is a major voluntary initiative and we applaud all those who are giving of their time to help others more in need at this difficult time'.

The Taunton Rotary Club has established its own Coronavirus response group and is woking with other organisations to identify needs both immediate and in the future.
