The Rotary Young Musician competition is always a showcase of musical talent and 2026 is shaping up to be no exception. Taunton Rotary Club were to the fore in administering the District competition, which took place on Sunday 8th March at Taunton School, with strong representation from the Taunton area. In all, eleven performers split roughly 50/50 between the Vocalist and Instrumentalist categories made a huge impression on the audience with a high standard of singing and playing. The Adjudicators had the task of deciding on the winners which in the Vocalist category was Katrina McAllister and in the Instrumentalist category Mia Wright. Both now proceed to the West of England and Southern Wales Regional Final where we hope they will keep the Taunton flag flying. Awards were presented by the Mayor of Taunton, Cllr Martin Straus.
