The Rotary Club of Taunton supports young enterprise and is working with Queen’s College Junior School to develop children’s understanding of business.
Most recently teams of young children from Queen's College participated in an enterprising challenge, supported by the Club. With just £2 each, small teams gathered together to see who could create the most enterprising idea to raise the most money for charity. The children raised £1,109 for the League of Friends Bed Appeal with projects which included car washing and baking to name but a few.
In their presentation to the Rotary Club, the Queen's Junior School children astounded and delighted members with their confidence, initiative, business skills and depth of learning derived from these activities. When asked what they had learnt from the experience, one young girl answered swiftly, 'We learnt quite quickly that Teamwork will make Dreams work'.
